There are
two questions I get asked by women more often than not. For those of you
sitting on the edge of your seats burning to know what inquiring minds are
begging for; no worries I won’t keep you guessing. The two questions on most
women’s lips are “how did you grow your hair” and “how did you lose the weight”.
As simple as they are they are both a bit more complex then one or two simple
steps. As easy as I can say “I ate less and worked out more”. There are a
variety of hits and misses in between, so much so that both hair growth and
weight loss are multimillion dollar industries.
In the arena
of weight loss I experimented with everything from meal replacement shakes to
Atkins to the Eight Hour diet to find what worked for me. On the other hand
growing my hair, which unbeknownst to some can often be tricky for afro
textured tresses, was as easy as it was difficult to maintain a regimen through
the trials of my ever changing life.
I’m not an
expert in either field but I’ve proven I can be successful at both. The beauty of
it all is so can you. One blog at a time, with some extra fixin’s in between we
will discuss, review and regiment ourselves into hot bodied dames with thick
healthy manes! Now let’s have some fun!
These are two of the hardest things for women of color to manage. Even the skinny sistahs such as myself. I just started to understand the importance of having muscle in areas that are already slim. In order to have the curves I want with weightlifting I need to build everything. I can even improve the look of something that I already that was okay.
ReplyDeleteHair I have never had a problem with length. Before all the trends with weave my hair was considered "long" for a lady of color. Now I know it didn't mean it always look healthy. Or that it was healthy. Didn't mean my hair stopped at a certain length. Through your teachings I learnedit doesn't grow just because of my complexion. So many women will enjoy takingthis journey with you.
